One thing that really turns me off is being constantly corrected. For example, pronouncing a Movie Star's name a little bit wrong.. And the person correcting me knows who I am talking about, but they don't want to miss a chance to correct me and say it EXACTLY the way it should be pronounced.

Same goes for any everyday word, if the person doesn't know what the word means, they should ask the meaning of the word. If the person does know the meaning, but doesn't like my pronunciation, that person should just get over it... biggrin

Yeah, the thing is, I can't hear very good, so a lot of times when I say a name or word, it is just from reading it. And that makes it tricky on pronouncing some things. I talk to my fishing buddies all over the USA and they all talk different. One of my best buddies is from Louisiana, he's a genuine Cajun, and he uses French words that I have to copy and paste, then look up on a lanquage translator. Only way I can figure it out. But anyway, it is fun. It's a big old world we have and there are so many different cultures, and one of the best things about being online is that we can visit with folks that otherwise we never would have talked to...biggrin

Playing one-upmanship ... that is, whenever I tell of a personal situation, humorous or otherwise, someone always has done the same thing, but it's always funnier or more intriguing.
